Megabits Vectorworks Design Awards

We have launched the Megabits Vectorworks Awards to promote excellence in design and help you achieve your design goals.

Here’s an opportunity for design professionals in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands to showcase their best work in Vectorworks. There are 5 categories — Architecture, Landscape, Joinery, Events and Other.  The best work in each category will receive the Megabits Vectorworks Design Award which includes training packages worth NZ $500 and heaps of recognition. Submissions will be accepted till 30th August 2019. 

+ Requirements

  • The Megabits Vectorworks Design Awards are open to professionals only.
  • Professionals must be based in New Zealand or the Pacific Islands.
  • All submissions must use Vectorworks.
  • Applicants can submit multiple entries per category. The same project can be submitted in more than one category.
  • You can submit your best work.

+ Rules

  • The competition will run from 1st April to 30th June 2019.
  • Submissions received after 30th June 2019 will not be considered.
  • Megabits reserves the right to remove entries from the competition that do not meet the submission requirements.
  • Submissions must include the full story of the project – project /client brief, concept and how it was developed and lessons learned.
  • Submissions must include the application form and may include PDFs, stand-alone images, .VWX files (in any version of Vectorworks), 3D Models, Movies, Web GLs, saved views for AR/VR and 3D Map integrations. On submission of the application form, entrants will be provided a link to upload their files.

+ Terms and Conditions

  • The Megabits Vectorworks Design Award is organised by Megabits Trust, 412C Lake Road, Takapuna, Auckland 0622, New Zealand.
  • The terms and conditions mentioned here will apply to every submission.
  • By entering this competition, applicant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • In the event of discrepancy between these terms and conditions, Megabits Trust will have the last word.
  • Megabits Trust reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and the rules at any time without prior notice.
  • In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results, and all other matters relating to the competition, the decision of the organisers and judges will be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
  • Purchase of the latest version of Vectorworks is not necessary to enter the competition.
  • By entering this competition, the applicant agrees that their contact information and their submissions i.e. images, movies and other files may be shared by the organisers as well as the judges for the purpose of administering the competition.
  • By entering this competition, the applicant agrees that their submissions i.e. images, movies and other files may be uploaded on the Megabits or Vectorworks website, social media and used on Megabits or Vectorworks promotional materials. Due credit will be given to the applicant.
  • The organisers will not be responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, lost or quarantined email; lost or quarantined graphics that are of the wrong file format; theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries; copyright infringement; or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs, or other causes outside their control.

+ Eligibility and Requirements

  • Only professionals may enter the competition.
  • Employees/Contractors associated with the organisers are not eligible to enter the competition. The organisers reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all applicants.
  • Each applicant warrants that his/her submitted files do not infringe upon or violate rights of any third party, and that he/she is authorised to submit the files.
  • All entries must be submitted into one of five categories: Architecture, Landscape, Joinery, Events and Other.
  • Applicants can submit multiple entries per category.

+ Licensing

  • Applicants agree that by the act of submitting entries, that they hereby grant the organisers a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, non-expiring, royalty-free license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, and publicly display the entry images and or films or other submitted files for promotional, and other marketing purposes.
  • The organisers agree to give credit to the applicant when practical by indicating the name of the applicant as submitted on the application form. Winners may be requested to take part in promotional activities and organisers reserve the right to use the names of winners in any publicity.

+ Liability

  • In no event will the organisers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or damages whatsoever resulting from loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, incurred by you or any third party, whether in action of contract, negligence or tort, arising from the entrant entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize.
  • The applicant agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified the organisers against all claims, demands, court costs, losses, and damages that the organisers or any company involved in the competition may incur as a result of a breach by an applicant of its warranties and obligations.
  • If third parties assert rights that conflict with the granted right to use, the applicant shall inform the organisers thereof in writing and without undue delay.
  • As a condition of entering this competition, the applicant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages, and any other damages, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
